Formation of FIFA
In 1904, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) was founded in Paris, aiming to govern and promote soccer worldwide. The First World Cup
FIFA organized the first World Cup in 1930, hosted by Uruguay. Thirteen teams participated, with Uruguay emerging as the inaugural champions by defeating Argentina in the final. The World Cup became the pinnacle of international soccer, held every four years and captivating millions of fans worldwide.
